something about big mac

in the middle of something (or nothing), i thought i'd might give swedish mcdonald's and outstanding ddb stockholm another go. found this 'big mac'-ad and though it was worth posting - you can't blame ronald for not delivering the very burger every single time you pop up at a mcdonald's restaurant. hence, quite ingenious to put their legendary piece of food in context with, probably, the most well-known artwork their is.

but what's with the pickled gherkins? can anyone honestly tell me that they won't throw it away?

something about summer

last night was dreamlike. thank you swedish archipelago - hence swedish summer is too perfect to waste in front of my desktop. the maths are not too complicated - new posts will appear less often, yet let me conquer this statement and try to at least deliver a few posts a week.

the cannes lions 2008 festival held place only this weekend. my research hasn't commenced yet but i will display and give my analysis toward the winners and runner-ups. rumors from a friend who attended this event says that the mini campaign was successful. not sure about the campaign's content, not either sure about their marketing communication integration. but stay tune for more information about that matter.

however, i will display another ad from mini that you might like. i do.

something about havaianas

a series of colorful ads for havaianas created in the land of thongs (and samba). these ads are not particularly unique or extraordinary, yet they express an energy that really grabs the viewers attention. however, they were not chosen to be exposed because of its vivid pictorial expressions, rather they were picked because of the quite cheesy copy texts displayed in the southeast areas of the ad.

something about comedy

this series of ads is for a 24 hour comedy channel - 'comedy central' - are created by the creative team on the hamburg situated agency, kempertrautmann (never heard of them before). these executions a are literally very simple and, according to me, somewhat effective, especially the (first) one with the chair with the strategically placed thumbtacks on top of it.

an exaggeration of simplicity is sometimes just enough.

something about a compulsory post

apple presents their new turbo 3g, gps satellite device.

great (two-skin availability) design, great applications in the new 2.0 software update, great price.

boring 2mpix camera, slow 2.0 bluetooth hardware, meagre 8 and 16gb hard-drives (touch already exists in 32)

was the 2g version just a preview - a test-marketing concept - if so, is this the iphone that we've been longing for?

july 11 release in both australia and sweden - the lucky operators are vodafone and optus in oz and telia in sweden.



think i'll stick with my touch and the soon to be released 2.0 update for a while. maybe not.

something about a mimic

two similar ads created by two different teams with only two months spread (although on different continents, but hey, whatever happened plagiarism?). must say i like the idea, yet hot wheels get the honor, not just because their series of ads were published months before but also because the idea works better with the kind of product they actually sell. other than that, i think the execution in both cases are fine.




but again, art director sukesh kumar nayak and copywriters heeral desai & kunal sawant wins this round.

something about a comeback

as promised - back in bloggin. yet this post is just a warmup for the upcoming sensations. just today i submitted my final assessment - a creative campaign - in creative strategy. the result will not be exposed here due to the fact that the quality does not belong here.

anyway, this ad is quality. i really admire the cleverness. made by jwt paris - they say they create ideas for their clients that people want to spend time with. can't say i don't agree.
