something about a pause

due to intense study conditions, the blog will be on hold for a week or so. ironically, i just wrote my final exam in international advertising, yet final assessments in marketing intelligence and creative strategy forces me leave you with a single post this week. but stay tune for a reincarnation on july 4.

however, i leave you with a cue to re-visit this extraordinary blogspot - an outstanding print ad produced by ogilvy & mather in singapore. everyone plays monopoly, right?

love it!

something about cigarettes

'cigarro mata mais' translation in english is, 'cigarettes kill more' - a simple creative execution in both art direction and copy. the idea is brilliant and it really makes you want to look twice, yet the moral aspect of these ads might be trapped by cultural boundaries. the ads's agency is saatchi & saatchi, brazil - is it too risky elsewhere?

something about itunes+coldplay

recently i posted the terrific ipod+itunes gamma tv ad (may 3). well, for you that don't read macfeber on a frequent basis, you might as well come across this new, brand integrated tv ad for the very first time.

the classic silhouette theme has reached a milestone, and the next generation of tv ads for itunes kicks off with with a truly adorable execution - coldplay performing their top selling itunes song, viva la vida.

how could you not choose itunes to be your first choice music retailer?

something about geneve 1830

a slightly unconventional tv ad for the swiss watch manufacturer baume et mercier. the ad itself is quite risky. i would have guessed american, but hey, listen to the white man's dialect - it's made in oslo!

an old idea, evoking new laughs.

i wonder what the pioneers from the 1830's would have thought about it.

'

'it's made in heaven man..

something about transparency

another cute print ad solution along with a boring product. despite her unusual curves, i actually think she's quite pretty - wonder what her bum look like above the surface?

don't hesitate to agree.

something about a cab for cutie

an eagerly awaited album from death cab for cutie. in this very moment track number 7 passes by - pretty ok album so far. and while i'm on it - another fresh album release from jason mraz. lovely sound.

happy weekend.

something about an attempt

is this how they learn to adapt a brand's soul in brazil? shape up miami ad school.

crappy photography, crappy art direction, crappy copy - crappy idea.

'but, but.. let me explain!' no way.

something about communism

not sure what they are trying to achieve here - correct me if i'm wrong, but it seems to be quite single-tracked. never mind, that's not what they are trying to achieve either?

the copy lacks but the art direction is spot-on.

something about a head off

in busy (read boring) times like these, this album is an amazing cure. listen to it over and over and over again and imagine the less bitter future. this is basic - quality stuff.

something about gamma (update)

perhaps you've already seen it? this brand new tv ad is just a march past the incomparable synergy between ipod+itunes, a synergy that encompasses two of the greatest inventions of the century. here are some indubitable facts that reveals my statement.

"CUPERTINO, California—April 3, 2008—Apple® today announced that the iTunes® Store (www.itunes.com) surpassed Wal-Mart to become the number one music retailer in the US, based on the latest data from the NPD Group*. With over 50 million customers, iTunes has sold over four billion songs and features the world’s largest music catalog of over six million songs."

“We launched iTunes less than five years ago, and it has now become the number one music retailer in the world,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s vice president of iTunes. “We are thrilled, and would like to thank all of our customers for helping us reach this incredible milestone.”

yep, large letters but i didn't quote it.

the song's shut up and let me go by the ting tings

makes me wanna lace up.
